Now Phil works at Warwick University and as a guide at the Castle where he has dressed up as a medieval soldier, Victorian butler, and Edwardian miller. "It's been great fun meeting people from all over the world," he says, "and one day I'm going to buy that place and become Earl of Warwick!"

As a singer-songwriter, Phil has a wide range of interests that he draws upon:
"I love the lyrics and songwriting of Paul Simon, the sounds of U2 and Coldplay, the experimental style of Radiohead, and the shameless romanticism of Elton John. It's an eclectic mix which I think has all had an influence on me."
Phil has his own website, but was quick to join MySpace when he recognised it was a great way to get his music heard:
"MySpace made everything much easier. It's a great way to meet people around the local area and network with other people on the local music scene."
International collaboration
As well as locally, Phil has been making contacts internationally, collaborating with American artist Victor Hugo:
"He got in touch asking if he could use my song Smile as supporting music for one of his pieces called The Finale. Since then, he has started a project to partner music and artwork. It's a perfect example of how creativity can be explored across continents with the use of new technology. And The Finale could make a good cover for my EP!"
Phil's plans for the future include continuing to write songs and build his fanbase, as well as playing more gigs and producing an EP. He also hopes to get a band together.
